Book Group Review from Shona

Hi
We have a lovely gathering on Thursday 24  September when we met to discuss the books we’d been reading.

Ordinary Time got mixed reviews. Most enjoyed it but agreed they were frustrated by the weakness of the main character and by her husband’s lack of  consideration of her needs or feelings. Also the demands of the church members and the husband dropping everything to attend to them was infuriating. It got 4/5.

Precipice was very much enjoyed and led to us discussing lots of topics – WW1 , politics, women’s rights, UK  history.

For next month we have chosen to read

Five Liars by D.L. Fisher (which is free on kindle at the moment)

and/or

Talking at Night  by Claire Daverley

We’ll meet again on Thursday 29th October at 7.30
