A worship service was held at 10.30am in the church building on Sunday 28 September.  The service was simultaneously broadcast on the Church Facebook page.  You can catch up here, or by following the link below.

The Bible passage was Luke 16:19-31 and Duncan led and preached. The sermon starts at around 45:32 on the video.  Andrew read the Bible passage. We were delighted to welcome Sara and Aaron MacInnes into Church Membership by Profession of Faith. Aileen Thompson received the Quaich as winner of this year’s Hilton Church Golf Challenge, which took place yesterday.

Duncan’s preached on Jesus’ famous parable about the Rich Man and Lazarus – parable which faces us with the challenge of economic equality and our response to it.

Said Duncan:  ‘Jesus’ parable is a call to all believers to truly see the full humanity of all our neighbours in such a way that motivates action and reflects the radical love of Christ.

…..Jesus’ call upon our lives to love our neighbour is always personal and today this parable calls us to be attentive to those who may be sitting at the gate of our lives.

We can’t help everyone, but God puts people at our gates and on our path for a reason. The story is a wake-up call. Jesus’ parable encourages us to be attentive this week to the people we may find at our gate.’

The photos below show Aaron and Sara with Duncan; the Praise Band this morning; Aileen with the golf Quaich; and this week’s church flowers.
