Book Group Report from Shona

Thursday night was a busy night and thanks to everyone who came and donated books and items and wrapped them to turn them into ‘A Blind date with a book’ (a gift wrapped book with a chocolate/biscuit,  tea /coffee or hot chocolate and a bookmark)

These are going to be sold at our Coffee Morning and Craft Fair on Saturday 22nd November . We did briefly discuss our books:

Getting out of the house – this was really enjoyed although some felt it had an abrupt ending. We loved the humour and some could identify with the young Nora and her daydreaming and story telling!   It received 4/5.

25 Library Terrace – was interesting. It told of the occupants of one house tracking through the census starting in 1908 right up the present day. Again some felt the ending was abrupt and left you wanting to know more but the whole story and all that was covered was enjoyed and it was given 4.5/5.

For next month we have chosen just one book:

Trespasses by Louise Kennedy

We meet again on Thursday 30th October- 7.30pm
