At Hilton Church we believe that we all have a responsibility for one another to use the gifts God has given us to minister to one another, allowing God to express his love and grace through each one of us. However, two of us get to call themselves ‘Reverend’ (though they hardly ever do!) and we thought you’d like to know who they are, and to meet the others who are employed by the Church.
Duncan trained as a lawyer before being called into the Ministry.
Originally from Skye he is married to Shona and they have three children.
He started in Hilton back in 1994 and being keen on a team ministry he is
supported by many men and women in the various ministries that the
church is involved in, both at home and abroad.
Jonathan’s been a part of the team in Hilton since 2008. Having studied theology on both sides of the Atlantic – including a Masters in Youth, Church and Culture – he was eager to get stuck into ministry in a parish. He’s passionate about seeing young people come to faith and then going to live it out. He’s also beginning to experiment with New Monasticism and what that might look like in Hilton.
He’s married to Susie and they have two sons, Charlie and Angus. He loves a good curry and plucking out a tune on his strangely small guitar. And, due to family ties, is duty bound to support East Stirlingshire, which often leaves him grief-stricken on a Saturday afternoon.
I was brought up in the Strathpeffer area and then lived in Edinburgh for approx 14 years, where I worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland. I returned north to Inverness in 2001 and have been a member of Hilton Church since then.
I’m married to Rod and have 2 daughters, Carrie and Rebekah. I spend most of my time, when not here in the office, as a taxi service for my daughters, running them to and from their various activities!
Like Jonathan, I also like a good curry but on the football front I have more sense and follow Ross County FC.
