Faithelement

This morning Duncan recommended a web site called Faithelement, and played a clip from it during the service. Faithelement is a Bible study curriculum for youth and adults that uses multiple forms of media — video, music, text, images — to help groups explore faith and the scriptures. It follows the weekly ‘Lectionary’ passages from the Bible which we also use at Hilton. It’s helpful for group use, as explained below, but can also helpful

Financial update

Here's a financial update from church treasurer Julie Douglas We are continuing to do great things as a church and in 2013 we repaved the path to the church, redesigned the church website and logo and upgraded and redecorated Jonathan's office to name but a few things. We continue to face financial challenges as do many organisations in these current times of austerity. The board actively works to review spend and keep costs down, but our income

Ceilidh for a Cause

This summer, a group of young people from Hilton Church are off to Romania once again. They'll be working with Carpathian Aid helping run a camp for poor and underprivileged children and disabled people at  Casa Harului (meaning ‘House of Grace’), a Christian Holiday Centre in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. Living Church: Sharing God’s life together

Here's a reflection by Barry Dennis: The more organisation we bring to church life the less life it will contain. Walking alongside each other, encouraging one another, learning to love one another, experimenting with community together - that's the way of life. Do we know each others hopes and current struggles? That will only come out in the naturalness of relationships not at meetings. No church model will produce God’s life in us, it is the
