A.M.P.’D 2018 Performing arts week for young people, 22nd-26th October


What is A.M.P ‘D?
A.M.P ‘D is a performing arts week run by Out of the Box (Scotland) Ltd, where young people can make new friends, develop creative skills and grow in faith.

Each person attending will have a choice of creative streams where they will have the opportunity to work alongside professionals from the performing arts towards an end of week showcase where they can put all their new skills into practise.

Who is A.M.P. aimed at?
Young people:
• currently in Primary 5 through to S2;
• with a church connection;
• with a desire to learn and/or develop a talent within the creative arts.

What are the creative streams at A.M.P.?
Acting Stream – led by Philip Todd  an Actor and Filmmaker from Edinburgh. In this stream you will have an opportunity to develop your acting skills through fun drama games, character exercises and rehearsal, and perform as the cast in the end of event showcase.

Music/Composing – led by Matthew Todd  a Musician and Composer from Glasgow. These sessions will give you an opportunity to create an original song or composition of professional quality which will be presented at the end of week showcase.

Puppet Stream – led by Chris Watt  a Children’s Worker and Puppeteer from Inverness. In this stream you will have an opportunity to learn puppetry skills and then develop those skills as part of a puppet team working towards a production in the end of event showcase.

Dance Stream – led by Carol Hutchison a Children’s worker from Inverness. In this stream you will have the opportunity to learn and develop a creative movement routine using ultraviolet light to be performed at the end of event showcase.

We will have a number of other volunteers helping us throughout the week in each of the different streams.

Each day am A.M.P.’D

The day will run from 10.00am to 4pm and will be broken up into four sessions, with one break for lunch (which is NOT* provided) and two breaks for snacks (which ARE provided).

The first session  each day will be worship and Bible teaching led by Colin Carmichael (Regional Worker, Scripture Union Scotland)

The second session will be spent in the streams learning and developing your skills, in preperation for the end of week showcase.

The first afternoon session straight after lunch will be a chance to play some fun games together and just generally have a good laugh.

The second afternoon session will be working on an exciting film project.

*Please bring your own packed lunch.

Where and When is AMP’D taking place?

• Monday 22nd October to Friday 26th October 2018
• In Hilton Parish Church, Inverness from 10am to 4pm
• The showcase event will take place on Friday 26th from 7pm at Hilton Parish Church. This event is open to anyone and entry will be by donation.

How much does it cost to book a place at AMP’D?   £100.00 for the week. Discount for siblings. First child pays full price, then any siblings pay just £50 each.

An AMP’D 2018 t-shirt is included (must be ordered 10 days before AMP’D) along with access to all video and pictures taken during the week.
