The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 1-12 November 2021. With this in mind over the next few months, we want to give you a few ideas to help you do something positive to help protect our world in our new, repetitive, green section.

Did you know that 8% of the oil production worldwide is used to manufacture plastic? As it would be better to use less oil and reduce our use of plastic, here is idea number one;

Use bars of soap instead of shower gel and liquid soap.

Bars of soap are widely available and can be so cheap, another benefit if you also want to save money. Bars of soap can also bring back memories. Some better than others! Who remembers carbolic soap at school? I recently bought Pears soap which conjured up many happy memories. Anyway, whatever your preference there is a bar of soap to suit everyone, go on give it a try.

For anyone with a Netflix subscription and wishing to be informed further about green matters, you can watch a 90 minute documentary called Seaspiracy. The programme raises a lot of important issues around global warming being mainly affected by fishing, and the unsustainability of the industry. For anyone not on Netflix, but wanting to be informed there are many articles online responding to these important issues raised.

Are you putting September 5th in the diary as Climate Sunday?
