Christmas – a poem by Margaret Johnston

Here’s a new poem by Margaret Johnston, which she wrote for yesterday’s  Rhymes Recollected:

It’s almost here, it’s coming fast
That special time of year
But alas, alack, what changes now,
A different one I fear.

To get the food and presents in
To get it all prepared
It’s Masks – Stay Clear – Don’t cough or sneeze
We’re all so very scared

But as midnight comes and we remember
Just what Christmas means
We’ll bow our heads and thank the Lord
For that lowly stable scene.

He sent His Son to save us all
To Him we all belong
He will get us through this terrible time
Just pray, have faith, be strong.
