Schooldays at Rhymes Recollected

by | Aug 25, 2020 | News and reports

‘Back to school’ was the theme of yesterday’s Rhymes Recollected, the first of the new session, presented live on Facebook by John and Audrey.  We heard lots of great poems about school, or reminding people about their schooldays – some were familiar favourites – The Lady of Shaott, for example, and Wynken, Blynken and Nod.  Others were less well known, such as Howard Nemerov’s poem September the First Day of School a parent’s profound take on seeing their child go into school for the very first time.  Watch yesterday’s session here, or follow the link below.

Rhymes Recollected is next on on Monday 7th September at 2pm, when the theme is ‘A lighter look at life.’   Watch out for news of this event, and let Audrey and John know the poems you would like us to read.  Or one you yourself have written….
