About 15 years ago, we supported Trish on a 2 year world exchange programme to Jamaica which led to her training to become a primary school teacher. after teaching in Edinburgh and Quatar, she is now principal teacher of a school on the Cayman Islands. Book group met last Thursday at Christine MacDonald's. The group was small in number this time, but be had a good time discussing  Night Waking by Sarah Moss and Longbourn by Jo Baker. I think Longbourn was rated higher with a 4/5 while Night Waking got 3/5. This month 2 books have been chosen: Pay it forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde and/or I let you go by Claire MacIntosh. We will meet again on Thursday 26th November at 7.30 at Angela MacLeods.

Andrew Dunn – making a difference in Madina

Andrew Dunn, a General Practitioner who attends Hilton Church flew out today on a medical trip to Sierra Leone. He is away for about 3 weeks. Andrew is visiting Madina (in the North West of the country) and the more central Makeni to see first-hand the medical work supported by the charity HelpMadina, and hopes to have the opportunity to assist in their projects.
